Who has encouraged me in this writing journey?
Wow. I almost feel like someone at an awards banquet – I know I will forget someone.
Mark Eckel – He was the first person to tell me that I needed to write!
Sharon Ruff – She read my work and couldn’t believe I didn’t have an editor.
Myrna Folkert – She invited me to her writer’s group.
Susie Finkbeiner – She took a chance and was the first to accept one of my submissions on her blog.
My writer’s group – Hours of laughter and encouragement!
Mom – Listening to my heart and understanding how it beats differently.
Mike – Challenging me and still accepting me for who I am.
My children – I overheard them: “Someday, my mom is going to be a famous children’s author!” I laughed.
Our church! – Uniquely beautiful and so vibrant. “Maybe your book will be one we read in Book Club!!”
Without these dear people, I wouldn’t have the nerve to claim the gift: “writer”.
And every writer has a list of people such as the one above who have encouraged them when articles are rejected and posts bomb and discouragement abounds.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
OK Ruth… I’m jealous! Happy you have so many WHOs in your corner 🙂

I didn’t think I had that many until I thought about it. I realized people had been telling me similar things in the various parts of my life.
While it might not be that long of a list, you have people who think the same. If you haven’t joined a writers group, I HIGHLY recommend it! Best single thing I’ve ever done as a writer.
