31 Days: Day 26 “moment”

Best and worst… it’s hard to pick a writing moment.

I’ve gotten one rejection email. That’s not such a fun one – especially since it was regarding a personal story. My head gets it, my heart isn’t so sure.

Someone once said to me that writing isn’t going to be anything more than your hobby and you need to accept that. That was downright hurtful.

Reading a sentence aloud after you spent hours perfecting it, so the effect is just right?Exhilarating!

Reading that some silly words you wrote acutally meant the world to the person who read them. Truly mindblowing.

Sitting down at the desk to write when it feels you have nothing to say and then finding your fingers moving and the most unexpected piece forming on the screen… humbling.

Getting an idea to further a story, writing it down and then finding another crumb along the way to learning who your characters are.

Your moments may be different than mine. But they are all just moments on the journey to becoming a writer who knows her craft well.

Make each one count.
